Job Summary:

As a Payroll Specialist at Amass, you'll be at the financial heartbeat of our operations, ensuring our 500+ employees across multiple states are compensated accurately and on time. Your expertise will not only support our team's financial well-being but also contribute to our culture of trust and respect. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the complexities of payroll in the fluid world of project management, consulting, and staff augmentation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll operations for 500+ employees across various states, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws; ensure payroll compliance and handle all payroll-related filings and documentation.

  • Employee Queries: Serve as the go-to person for all payroll-related inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses to ensure employee satisfaction.

  • System Management: Oversee the payroll system, ensuring it's up-to-date and reflective of the current employee roster, compensation rates, benefits, deductions, and taxes.

  • Audit and Reconciliation: Conduct regular payroll audits and reconcile payroll discrepancies to maintain the integrity of payroll data.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Finance to align payroll processes with overall business operations, employee benefits, and financial planning.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: At least 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in project management, consulting, staff augmentation, or professional services industries.

  • Knowledgeable: Deep understanding of payroll processes, systems, and regulations. Familiarity with multi-state payroll complexities is highly desirable.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

  • Communication: Excellent communication abilities to effectively handle queries and provide clear, concise information to employees and management.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.

  • Discretion and Ethics: High level of professionalism and discretion, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
